Cinderella at Sadler’s Wells Theatre is New Adventures’ 30th Anniversary celebration of Matthew Bourne’s production. Set in London during the Second World War, it reworks the classic fairytale as a wartime love story, beginning with a chance meeting between Cinderella and a young RAF pilot and following the pair through a brief period of happiness before the realities of the Blitz intervene.
The production features Lez Brotherston’s Olivier Award-winning designs, lighting by Olivier Award-winning Neil Austin, video and projection designs by Duncan McLean, and sound design by Paul Groothuis. Bourne’s storytelling places the action against the sights and sounds of war-torn London and Prokofiev’s score.
This is a 30th Anniversary production from New Adventures.
