Cinderella at Sadler’s Wells Theatre is New Adventures’ 30th Anniversary celebration of Matthew Bourne’s production of the classic fairytale. Set in London during the Second World War, it tells a wartime love story about Cinderella and a young RAF pilot whose chance meeting leads to a brief romance before they are separated by the Blitz.
The production brings together Lez Brotherston’s Olivier Award-winning designs, Neil Austin’s Olivier Award-winning lighting, Duncan McLean’s video and projection design, and Paul Groothuis’s sound design, set to Prokofiev’s score. It is presented as a vivid portrayal of war-time London and a familiar story told in an updated setting.
Duration: 2 hours 20 minutes, including 2 intervals.
Age guidance: strictly no under 5s. Some scenes may not be suitable for very young children. The production includes smoke/haze, possible strobe lighting in brief bursts, explosions, loud noises, sirens and smoking. Please note that there are no exchanges or refunds after purchase.
