The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London is a musical comedy by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park. Winner of four Olivier Awards® including Best New Musical, it follows two Salt Lake City Mormons sent as missionaries to Uganda, where their plans for baptisms and conversions meet a very different reality.
With music by Avenue Q’s Robert Lopez, the show combines song, comedy and satire across themes including religion and consumerism. The source material describes it as rude, potentially offensive and unexpectedly endearing, with lyrics and music designed to keep the story moving at pace.
