Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre takes audiences back to Hawkins in 1959, before the events of the TV story. The production follows a town with ordinary worries, where young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby’s sister and Joyce Maldonado are all trying to get on with their lives when new student Henry Creel arrives.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the show uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to revisit the beginning of the Stranger Things story. The production is set to explore how the past reaches into Hawkins, and how those events connect to what comes later.

The production has been described in reviews as “breathtaking theatre” and as a major West End event.

Before you book

Recommended age: 12+. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

Arrival and late entry: The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Please arrive 30 minutes before the start time. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval.
