Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre takes audiences back to Hawkins in 1959, before the world turned upside down. The story follows a regular town with regular worries, where young Jim Hopper’s car will not start, Bob Newby’s sister will not take his radio show seriously, Joyce Maldonado wants to leave town, and new student Henry Creel arrives with a family hoping for a fresh start.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to tell a new chapter in the Stranger Things story. It has also received five-star notices from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Standard.

Before you book

Recommended for ages 12+. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Please arrive 30 minutes before the performance starts. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
