About Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre in London takes audiences back to Hawkins in 1959, before the world turned upside down. Young Jim Hopper’s car will not start, Bob Newby’s sister does not take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, the town’s ordinary problems begin to look very different.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, this production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to revisit the beginning of the Stranger Things story. It presents the events that set everything in motion, with the shadow of the past reaching further than the people of Hawkins realise.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended 12+. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

Arrival and late entry: The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time, and you should arrive by 30 minutes before the performance. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval. Tickets: No exchanges or refunds after purchase.
