Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre is a new play by Jack Thorne, based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. It premiered in London’s West End in summer 2016 and follows Harry, Ron and Hermione 19 years after they saved the wizarding world, alongside a new generation at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The story tracks Harry as he struggles with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, while his youngest son, Albus, faces the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present collide, the production moves through spells, time travel and an attempt to stop mysterious forces before the future is put at risk.

It is the most awarded play in history and the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, where it won a record-breaking nine awards in 2017, including Best New Play and Best Director.

Running time: 2 hours, 55 minutes, including one 20-minute interval.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended for children aged 8+. Children under 5 are not permitted, Babes in Arms are not admitted to the auditorium, and patrons under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. All attendees, regardless of age, require a ticket.
