Into The Woods

About Into The Woods

Into The Woods is a West End production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical, fresh from a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre. Directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, it brings several fairytale characters together in one connected story.

The show follows The Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak, a maiden with long flowing hair, and a servant covered in cinders as they journey deep into the woods. Wishes are made, slippers are lost, beanstalks take flight and new friendships are forged as the story moves beyond “happily ever after”.

The Times described the production as “stunning”, while The Standard called it “a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales”.
