About Into The Woods

Into The Woods is at 85-88 St Martin's Lane, London, and transfers to the West End in September after a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical is directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt.

The story follows the Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak, a maiden with long flowing hair and a servant covered in cinders as they journey into the woods. As their paths cross, wishes are made, slippers are lost and beanstalks take flight, with the story looking beyond the usual fairytale ending.

Key facts: Suitable for ages 12 years and older. Audio described performances are at 7.30 pm on Friday 9 October 2026, and captioned performances are at 7.30 pm on Monday 9 November 2026.

Before you book

Everyone, regardless of age, must have their own ticket to enter the theatre. Children under 16 must be accompanied by, and seated next to, a ticket holder aged 18 or over. Children under 3 will not be admitted.

Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. The production contains haze, loud noises, flashing lights, strobe effects and periods of absolute darkness in the auditorium, so it may not be suitable for audience members sensitive to light.
