Into The Woods

About Into The Woods

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into The Woods transfers to the West End this September after a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre. Directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, this new production has been described by The Times as ‘stunning’ and by The Standard as ‘a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales’.

The show follows familiar fairytale figures, including the Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak, a maiden with long flowing hair and a servant covered in cinders, as they journey deep into the woods.

As their stories entwine, wishes are made, slippers are lost, beanstalks take flight and new friendships are forged, exploring what life beyond ‘happily ever after’ can look like.
