About Into The Woods

Into The Woods is Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical, transferring to the West End this September after a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre. Directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, this production brings the fairytale world of the show to the stage in a new West End staging.

The story follows the Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak, a maiden with long flowing hair and a servant covered in cinders as they journey into the woods. As their paths cross, wishes are made, slippers are lost and beanstalks take flight, with the story looking beyond “Happily ever after”.

The production has been described as “stunning” by The Times and “a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales” by The Standard.

Before you book

Suitable for ages 12 years and older. Children under 16 must be accompanied by and seated next to a ticket holder aged 18 or over. Children under 3 will not be admitted. Everyone, regardless of age, must have their own ticket to enter the theatre.

This production contains haze, loud noises, flashing lights and strobe effects that may affect audience members who are sensitive to light. There will also be periods of absolute darkness in the auditorium as part of the show, and audience members are asked to remain in their seats during this time.

Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. No refunds or exchanges are available after purchase.
