About Into The Woods

Into The Woods is Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical, transferring to the West End after a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre. Directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, this production brings together the Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak, a maiden with long flowing hair and a servant covered in cinders as they journey into the woods.

The story follows these familiar fairytale figures as their paths entwine and their wishes begin to shape what happens next. Along the way, slippers are lost, beanstalks take flight and new friendships are forged, revealing what lies beyond ‘Happily ever after’.

The production has been described by The Times as “stunning” and by The Standard as “a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales”.

Before you book

Suitable for ages 12 years and older. This production contains haze, loud noises, flashing lights and strobe effects, and there are periods of absolute darkness in the auditorium.

Everyone, regardless of age, must have their own ticket to enter the theatre. Children under 16 must be accompanied by and sat next to a ticket holder who is at least 18 years old. Children under 3 will not be admitted. Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance.
