Into The Woods

About Into The Woods

Into The Woods is transferring to the West End this September after a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical brings together familiar fairytale characters and follows The Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak and others as their paths cross in the woods.

Directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, this production follows the story as wishes are made, slippers are lost and beanstalks take flight. It explores what happens after the familiar “happily ever after” endings, with the woods serving as the setting for changing fortunes, new friendships and darker turns.

The show has been described as “stunning” by The Times and “a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales” by The Standard.

Good to know: the production has audio described performances at 7.30 pm on Friday 9 October 2026 and captioned performances at 7.30 pm on Monday 9 November 2026.
