Into The Woods

About Into The Woods

Into The Woods at 85-88 St Martin's Lane, London is Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical, transferring to the West End this September after a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre. Directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, the production has been described by The Times as “stunning”.

The story brings together familiar fairy-tale figures, including The Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak, a maiden with long flowing hair and a servant covered in cinders. As their wishes and journeys collide in the woods, the show follows what happens after the well-known fairy-tale endings.

Described by The Standard as “a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales”, the production blends path-crossing storylines, lost slippers, beanstalks and new friendships, while exploring life beyond “Happily ever after”.
