Amadeus is at the Noël Coward Theatre in London. Starring Michael Sheen as Salieri and Callum Scott Howells as Mozart, this is the first major revival of Peter Shaffer’s play in over a decade. Directed by Jeremy Herrin, it returns to the stage as a story set in Vienna, 1820, where a respected composer makes a shocking confession.
Fuelled by some of the greatest music ever written, the play explores ambition, faith and the cost of greatness. It follows the tension between talent and genius, and the way devotion can turn to betrayal.
The production also marks the first time two Welsh actors have taken on these legendary roles.
