Double Bill: Tell Me Straight & Aggy plays at the Kings Head. Following a critically acclaimed run at the Park Theatre, Paul Bradshaw returns with two one-act plays presented together as a double bill, with design by Olivier-nominated Damien Stanton, lighting by OFFIE winner Cheng Keng, sound by BBTA winner Eamonn O’Dwyer and video by Stage Award shortlisted Matt Powell.
Tell Me Straight is a fast-paced, semi-autobiographical coming-of-adulthood play about navigating and embracing sexuality. Him’s long line of hookups are all straight, while best friend Dani pushes him to find “a gay man who actually likes gay men”. A 30-day detox of no booze, no fast food and no men sets the scene for the pressure, distraction and self-reflection that follow.
Aggy is a bold one-act play about privilege, gender, race and creativity, and about who gets to make art. It follows Lawrence and Mahlik, who have been together for a year and are planning to move in together, before a suggestion for Lawrence’s next project brings fabricated identity, success and difficult questions to the surface.
Key facts: Both plays run for 70 minutes each.
This event is suitable for ages 16+. It contains strong language, flashing lights and haze, and includes discussions of racism, gender and discrimination. No refunds or exchanges are available after purchase.
