The Phantom of the Opera at 57 Haymarket, London, is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical about the Phantom, who lives beneath the Paris Opera House and becomes fixated on his protégée, Christine Daaé. The show combines the score with detailed scenery and special effects to tell the story on stage.
It first opened on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then, it has won 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.
Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes including one interval.
Children under 4 are not admitted. All persons aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own in the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.
