The Phantom of the Opera at 57 Haymarket, London is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical based beneath the Paris Opera House, where the Phantom lives in shadow and falls for Christine Daaé. The production combines the score with scenery and special effects to tell the story of the Phantom’s love for his protégée.

It first opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then, it has become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time, winning 70 major theatre awards and being seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Key facts: Running time 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances are Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, with Saturday performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. All guests aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket. Please print and bring it on the day, and it is recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance starts. You may also need to present valid ID.

No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase. Please also note that Stalls Row N-S will have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang, and single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
