The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal at the Gillian Lynne Theatre brings the television format to the West End as a cycle of five plays. Each version starts in the same way, then develops differently depending on who the Traitors are in that performance, so each play stands alone as a complete drama.
Written by multi-award-winning John Finnemore and directed by Robert Hastie, the production is staged by Studio Lambert and Neal Street Productions. From Monday to Friday, the story unfolds in five distinct ways; on Saturdays, the audience decides which version is performed in real time.
The production is designed around shifting alliances, banishment and betrayal, with different outcomes across the week. From 11 May to 7 June, performances vary during the preview period and are marked on the booking calendar with coloured shields. From 9 June, there is a different play each weekday from Monday to Friday, and Saturday audience-choice performances begin. There are no audience choice performances before Sat 29 May.
Key facts: Five different plays each week; Saturday performances are audience-choice from Sat 29 May; preview performances from 11 May to 7 June are colour-coded on the booking calendar; the production includes flashing lights, smoke, haze and some mild violence.
