About

About My Neighbour Totoro

At the Gillian Lynne Theatre, My Neighbour Totoro returns to London’s West End as a stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s 1988 animated feature film. Created in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV, and adapted by Tom Morton-Smith, it follows sisters Satsuki and Mei through one summer shaped by imagination, fantasy and family life.

This record-breaking production has won six Olivier Awards. It is presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company, with Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi.

My Neighbour Totoro is a coming-of-age story about childhood and the power of imagination, set around the sisters’ changing family circumstances and the magical world they encounter.

Running time: 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 20-minute interval. Awards: Winner of six Olivier Awards.
