About

About My Neighbour Totoro

My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London is the stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s 1988 animated film. Created in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV, and brought to the stage by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi, it is adapted by Tom Morton-Smith.

Winner of six Olivier Awards, this record-breaking production follows sisters Satsuki and Mei through one extraordinary summer as it explores childhood, imagination and fantasy.

The show is currently playing in London’s West End.

Running time: 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.

Before you book

Age guidance: 6+. The production is not suitable for children under 6 years of age, including babes in arms. Children under 4 years of age, including babes in arms, will not be admitted into the auditorium. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, seated with them throughout the visit, and every person entering the theatre must have a valid ticket.

Children need to occupy their own seat throughout the performance without assistance. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking. Younger children and babes in arms are welcome at relaxed performances. The show features puppets, including some large-scale puppets that interact in audience space, themes of an ill parent in hospital, and live music and sound effects that can be loud at times and possibly scary for some younger children. It is the customer’s responsibility to check suitability for anyone in their party.
