About

About My Neighbour Totoro

My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London’s West End is a stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s 1988 animated film. Created in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV, and adapted by Tom Morton-Smith, it follows one extraordinary summer in the lives of sisters Satsuki and Mei.

The production is brought to you by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi. Winner of six Olivier Awards, it is a coming-of-age story about childhood, imagination and the transformation that comes from seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

The show is currently playing in the West End.

Running time: 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended for ages 6 and over. The production is not suitable for children under 4 years old, including babes in arms. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, who must be seated with them throughout the visit.

All attendees, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket. Children need to occupy their own seat at all times during the performance, and single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.

The show features puppets, including some large-scale puppets that interact in audience space, live music and sound effects that may be loud at times and possibly scary for some younger children. Younger guests are welcome at relaxed performances.
