Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre is Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s musical, fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. It opened in London on Saturday 14 December 2024, following a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre.

The story brings Dickens’ tale of the boy who asked for more to the stage, with a score that includes Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me. It is produced and revised by Cameron Mackintosh, and co-directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy.

Booking information also states that Matt Lucas will play Fagin from 22 September to 1 November 2026, but will not be performing on Friday 9 October and Thursday 29 October at 2:30 pm.
