About Oliver!

Oliver! is playing at the Gielgud Theatre in London. Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s musical has been fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne, and opened on Saturday 14 December 2024 following a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre.

The Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning musical brings Dickens’ story of the boy who asked for more to the stage, with songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me.

Produced and revised by Cameron Mackintosh, the show is directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, co-directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy, with design by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve and music supervision by Graham Hurman.

Current cast

The cast includes Simon Lipkin as Fagin, Shanay Holmes as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell as Bill Sikes, Billy Jenkins as the Artful Dodger and Philip Franks as Mr Brownlow. Matt Lucas will play Fagin from 22 September to 1 November 2026.
