RENT at the Duke of York’s Theatre brings Jonathan Larson’s musical back to the West End in a new production directed by Luke Sheppard. Thirty years after it redefined musical theatre, the show returns in a staging starring Gaten Matarazzo as Mark.
Inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows a generation marked by joy, uncertainty and resilience. Its story centres on community and connection, with a message that runs through the production: no day but today.
