Arcadia at Duke of York's Theatre, St. Martin's Lane, London, is Sir Tom Stoppard's play in a new production directed by Carrie Cracknell, transferring to the West End after a critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic. The theatre is being newly renovated into the round especially for this production, which runs for a strictly limited 12-week period from 20 June.
Set in a country house across two centuries, the story follows teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly in 1809 as she explores mathematics, nature and the forces that shape the universe and the human heart. In the present day, author Hannah Jarvis investigates a mysterious chapter in the life of Lord Byron, and the questions raised by both timelines begin to echo across time.
Arcadia brings together science, romance, curiosity and the search for lost knowledge, asking whether life can ever be fully understood or whether we are always close to disorder.
Suitable for ages 14+. Opens on 20 June for a strictly limited 12-week run.
