Wild About You

About Wild About You

Wild About You at The Arches, London follows Billy on the day of his high school graduation party, when he finds a trunk of letters written to him by his late mother, who he was told abandoned him as a child. With his best friend Scoot, he begins a journey to uncover the truth about his past and his connection to a woman he never knew.

The songwriting pays homage to the lyrical worlds of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, with melodies and harmonies that draw on the artists who followed them. The score brings together nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul in a story told through music.

The production features an ensemble of characters from all walks of life, with a narrative shaped around memory, family and the question of where Billy stands in the world.

Key facts: The music combines nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul, with songwriting that nods to Joni Mitchell and Carole King.
