About Wild About You

Wild About You at The Arches, London is a storytelling production centred on Billy, a young man facing his high school graduation party while feeling uncertain about his future. When he finds a trunk of letters written by his late mother, who he was told had abandoned him as a child, he and his best friend Scoot set out to uncover the truth about his past and his connection to a woman he never knew.

The songwriting draws on the lyrical world of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, with melodies and harmonies that reflect the artists who followed them. The score brings together nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul, and the show uses an ensemble of characters from across different backgrounds.

The piece follows questions of identity, family and direction, with the idea that “love is what we leave behind” running through the story.
