Wild About You

About Wild About You

Wild About You at The Arches, London follows Billy, a young man on the day of his high school graduation party as he struggles with a future that feels uncertain. When he finds a trunk of letters written to him by his late mother, the woman he was told abandoned him as a child, he and his best friend Scoot set out to learn the truth about his past.

The songwriting pays homage to the lyrical world of Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Its melodies and harmonies draw on the artists that followed them, with music that spans nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul.

With an ensemble of characters from all walks of life, the show brings together a range of perspectives as Billy searches for a sense of where he stands in the world. The story looks at identity, family history and the idea that love is what we leave behind.

Key facts: The production combines storytelling with songwriting inspired by Joni Mitchell and Carole King, alongside an ensemble of characters from different walks of life.
