About Wild About You

Wild About You at The Arches, London, follows Billy on the day of his high school graduation party, when he finds a trunk of letters written to him by his late mother. Told she abandoned him as a child, Billy sets out with his best friend Scoot to uncover the truth about his past and his connection to a woman he never knew.

The songwriting pays homage to the lyrical world of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, with melodies and harmonies that draw on the artists who followed them. The score brings together nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul in a story built around family, identity and direction in life.

With an ensemble of characters from all walks of life, the production brings together music and storytelling in a way that centres on Billy’s search for where he stands in the world and the idea that love is what we leave behind.
