Wild About You

About Wild About You

Wild About You at The Arches, London follows Billy on the day of his high school graduation party, when he finds a trunk of letters written to him by his late mother, who he was told abandoned him as a child. The discovery sends him and his best friend Scoot on a journey to uncover the truth about his past and his connection to a woman he never knew.

The songwriting pays homage to the lyrical world of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, with melodies and harmonies drawing on the artists that followed them. The music spans nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul, and is written to support the story and its characters.

With an ensemble of characters from all walks of life, the show is centred on themes of identity, family and direction, with the line that “love is what we leave behind” running through the piece.
