About Wild About You

Wild About You at The Arches, London follows Billy on the day of his high school graduation party, when he finds a trunk of letters written to him by his late mother, who he had been told abandoned him as a child. With his best friend Scoot, he sets out to uncover the truth about his past and his connection to a woman he never knew.

The songwriting pays homage to the lyrical world of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, with melodies and harmonies drawing on the artists who followed them. The score combines nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul in a style shaped around storytelling.

Built around an ensemble of characters from different walks of life, the show centres on questions of direction, fulfilment and the idea that “love is what we leave behind”.
