About Wild About You

Wild About You at The Arches, London follows Billy on the day of his high school graduation party, when he finds a trunk of letters written to him by his late mother, who he had been told abandoned him as a child. The discovery sends Billy and his best friend Scoot on a search for the truth about his past and his connection to a woman he never knew.

The songwriting pays homage to the lyrical world of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, with melodies and harmonies that draw on the artists who followed them. The score brings together nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul, with storytelling at its centre.

With an ensemble of characters from different walks of life, the production is designed to give audience members points of connection as the story explores direction, journey, fulfilment and the idea that “love is what we leave behind”.
