About Witness for the Prosecution County Hall

Witness for the Prosecution at London County Hall is Agatha Christie’s courtroom drama, centred on the trial of Leonard Vole, who is accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. The audience is placed in the middle of the case as prosecution, defence and witnesses present their arguments and testimony.

Now in its seventh year, the production unfolds in a courtroom setting on London’s Southbank. It is an immersive staging, with actors moving through the aisles while the audience remains seated throughout.

Running time: 2 hours 20 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.

Parental guidance applies. Babes in arms are not permitted. Latecomers may not be admitted, and photography is not permitted. Gallery seats are not suitable for people who have difficulty climbing stairs or for vertigo sufferers.

The venue is on the South Bank of the River Thames beside the London Eye and Westminster Bridge, opposite the Houses of Parliament. The nearest Tube stations are Waterloo and Westminster, and the nearest main line station is Waterloo. The entrance for Witness for the Prosecution is on Belvedere Road; from Waterloo, follow signs towards Southbank/County Hall attractions, then signs to York Road, and County Hall will be on your left after a few minutes’ walk.
