Ivanov is at Bridge Theatre, 3 Potters Fields Park, London SE1 2SG. Nikolai has forgotten how to be happy, or whether he ever was. He is married to the perfect woman, has had a successful career and should be feeling settled in mid-life, but debts are building and his wife has recently been laid low with unexplained illnesses.
As a party at the Lebedevs draws near, the play asks whether Nikolai can save his marriage, his will to live and his career at the same time. Simon Stone brings Chekhov's comic drama into the contemporary world, with the same creative team that brought The Lady from the Sea to life.
Key facts: No one under the age of 5 is permitted within the auditorium, and the production is advised for ages 12+.
