Ivanov is Simon Stone's contemporary staging of Chekhov's comic drama. It centres on Nikolai, a man who appears to have a successful career and the perfect wife, but is instead struggling with debt, his wife's unexplained illnesses and a growing sense that life is coming apart.
As a party at the Lebedevs' brings more pressure into the room, the play follows Nikolai as he tries to hold on to his marriage, career and sense of purpose. The production reunites the creative team behind The Lady from the Sea, which The Guardian described as "fantastically original, gripping and magnificent".
