At the Adelphi Theatre, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s The Lives of Others is a stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning 2007 film, written and directed by Olivier Award-winner Robert Icke (Oedipus, Oresteia, Romeo & Juliet). Set in 1984 East Germany, it follows a writer and an actor placed under state surveillance, while a Stasi officer listens from the attic above their apartment.

The production explores artistic censorship, state surveillance and the relationship between art and politics. It plays for a strictly limited run from 14 October 2026.
