About The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind at Soho Place is a new musical based on the true story of William Kamkwamba. William wants to build a windmill, but nobody around him believes he can, and drought is closing in on his family’s farm and the village he loves.
With only library books and scraps of old machinery to work with, he has to rely on his own determination and ideas. This world premiere is directed by Lynette Linton, with book and lyrics by Richy Hughes and music and lyrics by Tim Sutton, and is based on William Kamkwamba’s memoir and Chiwetel Ejiofor’s film.
Dates: 26th April - 18th July.
