About Tao Of Glass
Tao Of Glass at 4 Soho Place, Charing Cross Road, London, is the West End premiere of Philip Glass and Phelim McDermott’s collaboration. Inspired by a dream, it explores life, loss and the question of where true inspiration comes from through ten meditations on life, death and Taoist wisdom, alongside ten new pieces of music by Glass.
Presented by McDermott with an ensemble of musicians and puppeteers, the show is described as part-concert, part-performance. It combines storytelling with Glass’s music and Improbable’s theatrical style.
The production is credited to Factory International, Improbable and Nica Burns, and has received five-star reviews from The Guardian, The Times and What’s On Stage, with four-star reviews from The Telegraph, The Observer and The Arts Desk.
Key facts: Running time is 2 hours 30 minutes, including an interval. Suitable for ages 12+. Dates: 25 July to 12 September.
