About

Johnny Cash Roadshow: Reliving the Prison Years of the Man in Black

"Clive captures my Grandfather JUST as he was" - Caitlin Crowell, Granddaughter of Johnny Cash

On the 4th September the Johnny Cash Roadshow return to Ormskirk Civic hall with its brand-new show

This year, the Johnny Cash Roadshow invites you to step into the raw and gritty world of Johnny Cash's prison era with their electrifying show that has captivated audiences for two decades. Set on a Folsom Prison-style stage, this performance brings Cash's most iconic concerts to life, immersing you in the unfiltered energy of his legendary performances behind bars.

2026 will bring you all the thrill of Johnny Cash's greatest hits in one night of pure entertainment. Award-winning Clive John, hailed as an exceptional Cash, channels the spirit of the legend with his unique warmth and authenticity. He is joined by the captivating Ashley Cavell as June Carter and an ensemble of world-class musicians playing authentic instruments, including double bass, Fender Telecaster, acoustic guitars, drums, piano, trumpet, and delivering spine-tingling four-part vocal harmonies.

Prepare to be mesmerized as timeless classics like "Walk the Line," "Ring of Fire," "Jackson," "Orange Blossom Special," and "A Boy Named Sue" are brought to life. Feel the depth and emotion of Cash's darker material from the later American Recordings, including the hauntingly powerful "Hurt," as well as touching on the powerful songs from supergroup The Highwaymen. This year's show is an emotional roller-coaster, celebrating the versatility and depth of Cash's music in one extraordinary evening.

Johnny Cash's connection to prisons is a fascinating part of his legacy. Although he never served time in prison himself, his empathy for inmates led him to perform in prisons, most notably at Folsom State Prison and San Quentin State Prison
