About

James Jackson brings his Love Through Change tour to Liverpool. An intimate acoustic show from a rising force in the UK folk scene.

From the school of Damien Rice + Jeff Buckley, Jackson has architected a raw and commanding performance style that has relentlessly stunned audiences across UK tours and Sofar Sounds shows. The 23-year-old is a graduate of the prestigious Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and was winner of the universities Paul McCartney Songwriting Session. Jackson was commended by the Beatle for being "a brilliant lyricist with a bright future".

Last summer saw Jackson release his self titled EP. The record features tracks such as his single "Sophia", a lumineers-style ballad recounting an intense failed love affair. "Babe This Isn't August" showcases his raw, personal songwriting style, with its instrumentation echoing that of influences Pinegrove & Big Thief. Both tracks were supported by Dave Monks at BBC Introducing in Merseyside.

In addition to his own project, James recently made his regional theatre debut, playing George Harrison, in the world premier of Shake It Up Baby at the Epstine Theatre, Liverpool.
