Review of Mint Festival 2023
Spent the Saturday at the Barn stage, huge techno lineup was fantastic, Hector Oaks was booked as the last set of the night and he is probably the best DJ around in his genre plus he spins vinyl, absolutely fantastic artist. Wanted to experience his live work for so long and Iâm so glad I got to witness it. HOWEVER, there was issues with the audio when he came to play, they didnât / werenât able to setup properly for the vinyl? I donât know why I just know that the first 15 minutes or so of his set was ruined by these difficulties, plus the techs spent the last half hour of the previous artist trying to setup??!! Unfortunately this meant a good chunk of the audience was lost :( . I would urge organisers, that if your booking a world class DJ who spins vinyl, make sure the technical team know how to do it properly! Would return again if the techno stage remains, especially if hector returns, but I doubt he would want to, he deserves to play where they know what theyâre doing.
