Review of Aylesbury Comic-Con 2017

Reasonable entry price made this comicon a must as it was local to us in Tring. It's my 12 year old son's passion and his comments at the end of the day were 'great day dad, much better than I thought it would be' that's all I need to hear. The stall holders were varied, fairly priced and helpful.
Many thanks.

I had a great time. The theater's space was pretty well utilized, there was a lot of stock and art for sale. The only video games were unknown indie stuff, but some like MaoMao Castle had their own charm. The cosplay competition had a good turnout, with well-chosen winners. The guest lineup was decent; respect for getting two Game of Thrones actors and the 4th Doctor. The Star Wars guests bailed rather than attend their Q&A, though. It was great to meet James Mackenzie, he was super nice and one of the main reasons I committed to coming on rather short notice. I would likely attend a future Comic-Con in Aylesbury.

First time at Comic Con, enjoyable the only thing I was confused about was the entry, I purchased 4 tickets at a cost of 32.00 was no control on the entry and it appeared that people were just wandering in off the street so for me I paid to enter and others didn't.

When I purchased the tickets I was excited to find out what was going to be happening on the day, but then I found out I had just paid £16 including a booking fee for my tickets when they (Aylesbury Comic Con) then advertised that the General Entry tickets were available on the day for £7, so £14 instead of the £16 I paid and when I contacted them they were so rude to me.

The event itself wasn't too bad, not enough stalls or a variety of products to purchase, cramped shoved into one place, there were a few bits upstairs but mostly pointless bits unless you wanted to go to any talks.

Needs to be in a bigger venue, more stalls and different merchandise to buy other than Pop Figures, more guests that are actually interesting, the only one who I had interest in was Hattie Hayridge from Red Dwarf, others were nobody's or people who were so stuck up - Colin Baker very up himself!

Event as a whole was okay but was only there an hour before I was bored.

The event itself it fantastic - I will admit I'm a tad annoyed to have purchased my tickets in advance (transaction fees included) only for then to announce on the day that you can buy on the door for a lower price (no transaction fees).
Aside from that, the actual event is brilliant. Lots to see and do when you consider the small size of the venue (when compared with the likes of MCM comicon or Film Con in London). Would recommend and really hope this becomes an annual thing
