In the beautiful setting of the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, overlooking Portsmouth Harbour and Spinnaker Tower, Loud & Proud presents a night of varied acoustic music from the local area to raise money to support the Saving HMS Alliance appeal.
The acts include:
•Kenny Alexander – a local folk singer who plays a whole host of instruments from guitar to piano accordion to mandolin. Kenny will keep you entertained with his wit, charm and goose bump tingling music.
•The Stokes Bay Strummers - are a group of Ukulele strumming chorus singing entertainers. Well known for their charity work and ear catching music the group raise money for a whole host of charities. They play traditional songs right up to modern pop tunes.
•Kelly and the Acoustics - won Gosport's ‘Battle of the Bands’ setting them up as a group to watch out for. Shortly after winning they played ‘Wickham festival’ ‘Gosport Revolution festival’ and lots local charitable causes. Their mix of original material and re styled covers will have you moving your feet and clicking those fingers!
•Taylor Horne - is a local singer song-writer known for his adventurous lyrics and quirky subject matter. He will be showcasing some of his new material.
•Chanelle Rawlinson – winner of “Gosport’s Got Talent”
•The evening will start with a welcome from the Rose & Thistle Pipe Band.
Alongside the great live music, the Loud & Proud volunteers will serving a range of delicious cakes, teas, coffees and other beverages. There will also be family friendly activities from face painting to crafty crafts.
Every aspect of the evening is planned by the volunteers which helps them gain new skills and confidence in a working atmosphere.
Loud and Proud is a group of volunteers aged between sixteen and twenty-five who’s aim is to raise awareness in our local society about a wide range of issues. Through helping others and working together they are showing people and themselves what they can achieve. Members of the group face all sorts of stigmas, social problems, disabilities, mental health issues, and confidence problems.”
