Merrowfolk launch their album at the Rum Shack followed by an afterparty to dance the night away with the band featuring Minerva Wakes, Clegs and much more. Support to be announced.
merrowfolk are an indie folk rock collective from the Glasgow DIY and Scottish festival scene. Initially gathered around Irish singer-songwriter Mima Merrow’s solo project, their palpable chemistry, wide-ranging musical influences and intoxicating sound has seen them grow into one of Glasgow’s most exciting new bands.
‘understory’ - merrowfolk’s debut album, due for release on 15th October 2026 via Iffy Folk records, beckons us into a wild world where strong female harmonies soar from the sweetest lilt to searing shrieks. Lush brass, grungy guitars and dynamic keys are rooted in driving drums to shine a light on the stories too often kept in the shadows.
Audiences have enjoyed their energetic live shows at festivals in Scotland and Ireland including Stendhal Music, Knockengorroch and Back Doune the Rabbit Hole. They supported the Girobabies at their Farewell tour in The Art School this year and recently have played shows in Stirling, Glasgow and Lockerbie.
