Lhamo Grace LIVE in Leith

Scottish songstress Lhamo Grace has been compared to Bjork, Billy Connolly and Kimya Dawson (of Moldy Peaches fame). Because she's a songwriter, she sings and writes, of course, about heartbreak, love, hope and failure. Less predictably, she also sings about dog sh*t, organs (not the musical kind. The kind you find in your body), getting crushes on her neighbour (not once. Twice. And she doesn't recommend it, unless of course you want sheer humiliation and then great inspiration for songs!) and how to achieve world peace. In short, she's absolutely excellent. Even one of her musical heroes, King Creosote, is a fan, by which we mean he loves her songs - we are not trying to claim that he is a heat-reducing plug-in piece of electronic equipment. Though who knows - some people simply excel at multi-tasking. Could we call it shapeshifting, even?! Is King Creosote a modern-day selkie - shifting from electrical appliance to successful musician at the blink of an eye - sliding between guises quite undetected?! :-o - this would be miraculous! But we disgress....!

There will be jokes, there will be banter, there will be beautiful music and great songs! There will be kind people, optional dancing to 5ve and B*witched (because every great gig deserves intermissions with 90s pop classics) and no doubt lots of hilarious awkwardness (Lhamo is proud of her skills in this particular area).
