About

Echo Mobile Library run a vital service of support and inspiration to refugees in and around Athens, Greece. They operate out of a van stuffed with books.

100% of takings from this gig will go to Echo Mobile Library!

We've got a treat for you...

First up: BECKA WOLFE who some of you may remember as a stalwart of Edinburgh's folk scene and former violinist with New Urban Frontier. She lives in Athens and helps to run Echo Mobile Library. She's an amazing singer and folklorist and will play a set of tunes from the Arabic speaking world and beyond.

Then comes: DIASPORADICS, a new-old band playing punk-inspired antifascist experimental dub with a helping of hip-hop. Expect hard-hitting lyrics and unexpected rhythmic interactions, plus a couple of tunes from their old band (New Urban Frontier) resurrected for their urgency.

Final course: OCH VEY, Edinburgh's premier anarcho-klezmer band, fuse the traditional folk music of eastern European Jews with a punky backline, guaranteed to make at least one person in the audience consider dancing.

THE VILLAGE is a new venue at 101 Leith Walk, where Kvasa Bakery used to be.

We've got two advance ticket prices, this is to enable you to pay more if you want to, but this really is up to you. The tickets are identical, except one donates more money to the Echo Mobile Library. Whatever you decide, your support is really appreciated!
