Following successful summer tours to Glasgow, Liverpool, and Bristol, over sixty members of Streatham Choral will be performing a series of free-to-attend lunchtime recitals in Edinburgh from Saturday, July 26th to Monday, July 28th. The choir will also sing evensong at Cannongate Kirk at 7 pm on Sunday, July 27th.
Founded in 1921, Streatham Choral is one of London’s largest and most vibrant amateur classical choirs. Known for performing a wide range of repertoire in prestigious venues such as Cadogan Hall and Southwark Cathedral, as well as within their local South West London area. The choir has been acclaimed for its emotionally moving and thrilling performances. Conductor Calum Fraser is praised for his ability “to blend them with storytelling ability as well as musical heft,” and the choir’s accompanist, Samuel Ali, is an outstanding organist who has performed across the UK and in Paris, Moscow, and Slovakia.
