Real Mary King's Close

Beneath Edinburgh’s Royal Mile lie streets whose secrets are waiting to be told… The Real Mary King's Close This unique and historic site is time capsule of hidden streets, with real town houses and rooms dating back to the 1500s. These streets were once open to the skies before they were used as the foundations for the Royal Exchange, now the City Chambers, which was built directly over the top of the streets in 1753, covering them for over two centuries. Events at The Real Mary King’s Close are an experience like no other.
