Join us on Wednesday, the 9th of September, for the first night of the 'When I grow up, I don't want to be anything at all' tour. Celebrating the release of the second album by alternative artist Charlie Smith. Joining him on the stage is a collection of Derby-based acoustic artists.
The tour seeks to promote local grassroots music, not only by featuring talented musicians but also by fundraising for the music venue trust. There is a completely optional £1 ticket levy if you would like to support the vital work they do. Charlie Smith will also be donating £1 for every album and T-shirt to the cause. Thanks in advance for your support.
My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I’m Charlie Smith, a singer-songwriter from Romsey, Hampshire. I perform solo and have experience playing and hosting my own independent shows at venues such as The Railway Inn, Flack Manor Brewery, and The Platform Tavern. I am super passionate about grassroots music and regularly participate in action to grow my local scene. Fiercely independent, I record and produce all my music with a true DIY ethos. In April, I hosted six gigs in England as part of my music venue trust fundraiser tour. I managed to fundraise £575, including events in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool & Leicester.
